Built to keep you dry, warm, and moving through cold, high-output conditions.

Color: Black
Size: XXL

Expedition-weight wool over open mesh for prolonged exposure to severe cold.

Antarctic takes Brynje’s two-layer system beyond the Arctic collection with a heavier expedition-weight Merino exterior. Super Thermo polypropylene mesh sits inside the garment to reduce wet fabric contact and create insulating air space. A thick solid-knit wool layer covers the mesh, while select styles add wind protection for exposed conditions.

Suggested Active-Use Starting Window

-30°F to 20°F

-34°C to -7°C

A practical starting window for expedition use, long cold exposure, hunting, professional work, and mixed-output winter activity. Antarctic is substantially heavier than Arctic Double and can function as a midlayer or, in dry and protected conditions, as outerwear.

Severe Cold Cold / Active
-50°F -46°C
-30°F -34°C
20°F -7°C
40°F 4°C

This is not a safety rating or guaranteed comfort range. Wind protection differs by Antarctic product. Exposure, shelter, activity, precipitation, metabolism, and the complete clothing system must all be considered.

Why Antarctic Works

Antarctic follows the same mesh-and-solid-layer principle as Arctic Double but uses a heavier Merino exterior. The polypropylene mesh minimizes wet fabric contact and creates open insulating cells. Thick wool covers those cells, stabilizes warm air, and supplies substantial insulation during extended cold exposure.

That Means:
Less wet fabric touching the skin
More insulation than the Arctic Double system
Warm air stabilized beneath expedition-weight wool
Optional wind protection on select jacket styles
